I use Jellyfin with FinAmp for Android. Even supports offline caching.
Because everyone should live in a poorly constructed cookie cutter house and get into petty fights with their homeowners association the way God intended.

I have heard some people refer to Fox News as being, and I quote, “liberal.”
In fairness, these people are part of the MAGA crowd, so I assume they can’t actually read and have no idea what the word “liberal” means.
Reminds me of the time my inlaws switched to Patriot Mobile to get away from the “liberals at AT&T”. I don’t know which part of the grift is the most laughable.
A.) The fact that AT&T is not at all “liberal” and is very supportive of conservative politics.
B.) The fact that Patriot Wireless is an MVNO and at that time operated solely on AT&T’s infrastructure, so now your money is going to AT&T AND a third party middle-man.
MAGA is essentially just one giant con job.
Jellyfin, Immich, and Paperless-ngx are three of the apps I use the most but you do whatever works best for you. That’s half the advantage of self hosting. You can have a solution that’s custom tailored to your needs.
Same genius who forced all his own employees back into the office. An incomprehensibly stupid maneuver by an organization that literally owes its success to people working from home.
Also losses. Gotta get that sweet, sweet too-big-to-fail bailout money.
Jeffrey Epstein was Hamas.

I would’ve figured the rope was either a stretchy rope or it came with a rickety stool that catapults itself into the ceiling after being stood on.
Senator Tom Cotton
Ah. Yeah, that tracks.
I would bet there are still a few old pieces of industrial machinery around that I duct taped together by imaging an ancient PC and transferring it to a Virtual Box VM.
I think it’s pretty safe to say that when your country is run by a murderous tyrant who has his own mother arrested on [presumably] fabricated corruption charges, human rights are of little concern.
Definitely not exclusive to the US but still a significant and shameful part of our history. LBJ said it best. “If you can convince the lowest white man he’s better than the best colored [brown, gay, trans, etc.] man, he won’t notice you’re picking his pocket. Hell, give him somebody to look down on, and he’ll empty his pockets for you.”
One of the few accurate things Trump has said was that he could “shoot someone in the middle of fifth avenue and not lose any votes.” He pulled the phrase out of his ass but I think he was correct. His base either chooses to ignore his lifetime of scumbaggery or they know and just don’t care. I doubt there’s anything Putin has on him that would turn off the MAGA crowd. And I’m sure he’s done some truly horrible shit that we don’t know about.
His supporters don’t care. They lack empathy. It has been repeatedly demonstrated that the only way they will care is if his poor decisions impact them in a very personal, tangible way.
Yet another example of media conglomerates and sympathetic governments helping increase the awareness and sophistication of piracy while doing almost nothing to prevent it. Good job guys! Slow Clap
According to data from the world’s largest job board, Indeed, demand for IT jobs is rapidly declining. Backend development, testing, technical analysis — all of this is being automated faster than education systems can adapt. Since the end of 2022, global tech corporations have laid off more than 635,000 employees. Behind this figure are engineers, designers, analysts, UX specialists — people who, until recently, were considered the elite of the digital world.
This is not because of “AI.” This is because the river of dirt cheap debt dried up and corporations ran out of gambling money to blow in pursuit of the next big thing. I’ve spent a lot of my career working for non-tech companies who have this idea that they have a massive treasure trove of data which they are sure can be monotized. So, they set out creating solutions in search of problems. Every project I’ve worked on in the last 5 years has failed for this exact reason. Rising interest rates brought most of the gambling screeching to a halt.
“In the criminal justice system, offenses involving Tesla’s are considered especially heinous.”
It seems like the singular benefit is that DuckDB (or similar OLAP models) can quickly handle lots of expensive read queries on large datasets.
It’s not a replacement for a traditional RDBMS. I’ve never used it so I don’t know if it’s worth the effort to maintain instead of just using a Postgres read-only instance to run analytics queries but somehow I doubt it.
My guess would be that it has a few very specific use cases where it can provide some added benefit. So, I fully expect it to be crammed forcefully into software projects where it provides no tangible benefit for the foreseeable future. Just like cough MongoDB cough.
Oh yeah? Well, my upcoming AI models pose a higher risk of enabling the discovery of the location of the long-lost Ark of the Covenant, which would [allegedly] make ones armies invincible and impervious to biological weapons.
